for other creatures that inhabit their world. Explore the animal
derived materials (horn, hair, feathers, claws, teeth, hair, etc.)
that make Naga adornment so powerful and make a necklace from
feathers, animal charms and glass beads.

important role in Naga ethnic identity as well as displaying
status. Discover how fabric designs are created and uncover the
unique meanings attached to different designs and materials.
Decorate a sash belt using paint, stamped designs and cowrie shells.

tribes create stylized designs incorporating dots and geometric
figures in body tattoos and chank shell decoration. Learn about the
symbolism of the dot designs and make a necklace using glass beads
and decorated shell pendants.

history. Today groups are using beads to increase their
standard of living and enhance their quality of life. An
exhibition in the Dorothy Chafin Gallery will explore several
groups.
